La Porteña Tango

La Porteña Tango is the Argentine Tango group with the largest audience in Europe, with over 800 concerts performed on stages in 22 countries across four continents. With a meticulously crafted show and a grand stage production, it takes its repertoire of classic Argentine tangos, directed by guitarist Alejandro Picciano, on a refined journey through time. This journey spans from the old Creole waltzes of the 1920s to the avant-garde genius of Astor Piazzolla, all delivered with exceptional musical quality and skill.

The show, enhanced by audiovisuals, recreates the unique atmosphere of greater Buenos Aires in a beautiful concert that tells stories of love, passion, and jealousy—all while never forgetting the fun. After all, tango is a genre with humble, working-class origins, yet it remains contemporary and popular, resonating with audiences worldwide.

With the unmistakable style that has made them the most-watched tango group in Spain and Europe, and true to their tireless spirit of renewal, La Porteña offers us a musical journey filled with emotion, beauty, and nostalgia.

After years of bringing to light hidden gems and forgotten Argentine tango composers, on this occasion they present a carefully curated selection of the greatest classics of the genre and the most acclaimed songs by audiences at their concerts. A repertoire that brings together the best of tango of all time, from the oldest like "Caminito" and "El Choclo", to the immortal works of Carlos Gardel such as "Por una cabeza" or "Volver", without forgetting the powerful lyrics of Enrique Santos Discépolo in songs like "Cambalache" and "Uno".

The show also traverses the great hits of tango’s golden decades, with songs like "Malena", "Nostalgias", and "Adiós Pampa mía", and includes a moving tribute to Astor Piazzolla and his revolutionary legacy. And of course, "La Cumparsita", the tango of all tangos, will not be missing, nor the song that gives the show its name: "Así se baila el Tango".

With an immersive audiovisual stage design, costumes meticulously crafted down to the last detail, and two dazzling couples whose strength and elegance shine on stage, this new production is designed to move both longtime tango fans and those discovering the genre for the first time.
