Versos en Libertad es un recital donde la poesía y la música se convierten en refugio frente al vértigo del tiempo. Vivimos atravesando los días, los meses y los años sin detenernos a tomar conciencia del “aquí y ahora”, dejando escapar instantes que merecen ser vividos con plenitud. Por eso, hoy más que nunca, este espectáculo nos invita a detenernos, escuchar y sentir.
Concebido como un homenaje a la Generación del 27, el recital recorre la belleza, la fuerza y la vigencia de algunos de los versos más esenciales de nuestros grandes poetas. La emoción de las palabras de autores como Federico García Lorca, Rafael Alberti, Pedro Salinas, Luis Cernuda o Vicente Aleixandre revive sobre el escenario en un encuentro donde poesía y música dialogan para devolvernos la memoria de una de las épocas más brillantes de nuestra literatura.
La voz y la presencia inconfundible de Charo López conducen este viaje poético con sensibilidad y emoción, mientras el barítono Luis Santana aporta profundidad y lirismo musical a través de un repertorio cuidadosamente seleccionado. Al piano, el maestro Víctor Carbajo teje un paisaje sonoro delicado y evocador que amplifica el poder de la palabra.
Versos en Libertad es un encuentro íntimo entre poesía y música, un espacio para detener el tiempo y tomar conciencia del presente a través del arte. Un recital cargado de belleza, emoción y memoria que rinde tributo al espíritu libre, innovador y profundamente humano de la Generación del 27, recordándonos que sus versos siguen iluminando nuestro tiempo.
Born in Salamanca in 1943, she had a clear vocation for acting from the age of 17. It was at the Faculty, while studying Philosophy and Literature in her hometown, that she took her first steps with the Spanish University Theatre. While working as a teacher, she met filmmaker Gonzalo Suárez, who proposed she star in Ditirambo (1967), and her life changed. She has worked with him on seven other feature films, and since then she has appeared in around 60 films, 40 TV series, and about twenty plays, alongside some of the most prestigious directors in our country.
It was Manuel Vicent who, with precision, defined her as «the symbol of light at the end of the tunnel of Francoism».
After playing Mauricia in the series Fortunata y Jacinta, her portrayal of Clara Aldán in the series Los gozos y las sombras turned her into a benchmark, from which she went on to string together success after success on the big screen. Thus, her filmography includes titles such as La colmena, by Mario Camus; Los paraísos perdidos, by Basilio Martín Patino; Tiempo de silencio, by Vicente Aranda; Lo más natural, by Josefina Molina; Kika, by Pedro Almodóvar; Ánima, by Titus Leber; or Plenilunio, by Imanol Uribe.
Winner of the Silver Frames for her entire career, the Nacho Martínez Award at the Gijón Festival, and the San Jordi Cinematography Award in 2010, among her accolades are also three TP de Oro awards, two prizes from the National Union of Entertainment, the FAD Award for Film and Social Values, and other honours.
LUIS SANTANA - Baritone
This Zamoran baritone began his musical studies at the age of five and has trained with great masters such as Juana Peñalver, Consuelo Barrio, María Teresa Manzano, Miguel Zanetti, tenor Pedro Lavirgen, and Teresa Berganza. He has performed in some of the most important theaters and auditoriums in Spain, including the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Auditorio Nacional de Música, the Maestranza de Sevilla, the Teatro Cervantes de Málaga, the Teatro Calderón de Valladolid, or the Victoria Eugenia de San Sebastián, as well as developing an intense international activity in cities such as Rome, Paris, Milan, Budapest, Vienna, Lisbon, or Riga. He has worked under the direction of prestigious conductors and starred in memorable concerts such as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the Auditorio Nacional alongside the Orfeón Donostiarra, Mozart's Requiem at Seville Cathedral, Brahms' Requiem at the Old Cathedral of Salamanca, or notable tributes to Teresa Berganza, Victoria de los Ángeles, and Ainhoa Arteta.
His artistic versatility has allowed him to tackle a wide repertoire that encompasses opera, zarzuela, oratorio, and recitals. He has participated in important national and international festivals and shared the stage with prominent figures in the Spanish musical and theatrical scene. Among his most notable performances are concerts before Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain at the Basilica of El Pilar in Zaragoza, collaborations with artists such as Nati Mistral, Paco Valladares, or Rosa Torres-Pardo. His career has established him as one of the most recognized and appreciated voices within the Spanish lyrical repertoire.

El Teatro de Rojas lived one of those nights in which culture seems to regain its most soulful pulse and, without a doubt, very much alive. An evening in which the word—that fragile and resilient matter, so similar to glass and iron—once again took its rightful place: the center of collective emotion. "Verso a verso" was not only a recital but a living chronicle of Spanish poetic tradition, a bridge between centuries sustained by three distinct and complementary voices.
